A late lunch at Tea Light Cafe in North Scottsdale was like visiting my own private oasis -- it was just me and Buddha hanging out.
Halfway through my taro boba -- which was about 30 seconds after I got it -- I realized I needed a picture.
Chewy tapioca balls plus milky taro tea is dessert in a cup.

So Southern Noodle Company on Wilcrest is going to court to protect its classified fortune cookie and noodle recipes.
They say they're doing it to protect their livelihood.

Francisco Xavier, 33, who studied cooking in Japan for 10 years, opened a Japanese-style restaurant on Easter Island in the South Pacific, best known for its Moai statues, in February 2007 to offer sushi to local residents and tourists.
Xavier, who is married to a second-generation Japanese-Chilean woman, named the restaurant Izakaya Kotaro after his son.
It has a red lantern and a bamboo lattice door.

The lion cake included a chow mein noodle mane and peach ring ears and eyes with chocolate bit accents, fruit roll-up cutout nose, and fettuccine noodle whiskers.
The lion cupcakes had caramel corn manes and jelly bean eyes with chow mein noodle whiskers.
The lion sandwiches were half bagels with cheese or onion flake manes with cheese and ham cookie cutter cutouts with olive eyes and red pepper smiles.

An Iowa postal carrier has been arrested and charged for public intoxication after being found sitting on the kitchen floor of a house in Marion eating leftover noodles with her hands.
Police say the 46-year-old woman got inside the house through an unlocked door.
She was found with her mail-carrying bag next to her.

Bring two quarts salted water to a boil.
Remove from heat, add the rice noodles, and let soak until they're just tender, 5 to 10 minutes (or follow the instructions on the package).
Drain the noodles well and set on a plate lined with paper towels.
